Uncle Jed, Jethro, and Elly Mae Clampett have returned to tackle the energy crisis! The Beverly Hillbillies, which aired from 1962 to 1971, was one of the most beloved comedy series during its time on network television. In 1981, the original cast members Buddy Ebsen (Jed Clampett), Donna Douglas (Elly Mae), and Nancy Kulp (Mrs. Hathaway) came together again for Return of the Beverly Hillbillies.
Following Granny's passing, Jed Clampett has decided to move back to his country cabin, while Jethro remains in California working as a Hollywood movie producer, and Elly Mae is running a zoo filled with her favorite animals. Mrs. Hathaway, who used to work at a bank, now has a job with the U.S. Government. She teams up with her new boss, "Chief," portrayed by Werner Klemperer (famous for his role as Colonel Klink in Hogan's Heroes), to find a solution to the nation's energy crisis - with some unexpected assistance from the Clampetts.
